We created DIY skate's website to offer a free service, plans and advice to the skateboard community about building their own ramps and rails, or any other skate obstacles. With the "Do It Yourself" mentality, we've been able to help a lot of action sports enthusiasts all over the world for over a decade!

On the other hand, we still get many requests for skaters that do not have the basic construction knowledge to build their own ramps and rails. Their intent and desire are there to build their own, but some simply lack the "skills of the tools". For that purpose, we wanted to offer another option of "DIY kits" with our friends over at OC Ramps.

OC has been designing and building skateboard ramps since the late 1990's. In the early 2000's they came up with a way to offer skateboard ramps in the kit form. These ramp kits would be prepared in a way that everything is already pre-drilled, countersunk and pre-cut. All you need on your end is an electric drill to assemble. They provide all materials to build the ramps or rail. Yes, they even hand count the screws for you! This isn't meant to be a shameless plug. We're including OC's information for those that have realized that the DIY plans on this website are too much work, or require too much time. Not everyone has the luxury to go in their garage and pull out several types of saws, or drills. Or perhaps some don't have a pickup truck to go around town and order all the different sheets of plywoods, metals, etc. With OC Ramps, you get a ramp kit delivered to your house in a box....and with free U.S. shipping.

The great part about these kits is that you still feel like you're building your own. In fact, you are! You're building your own backyard mini ramp, or quarterpipe for the driveway. The only difference here is that OC is taking out all the headache out of the work. A halfpipe that would take a week or two by scratch could potentially take you several hours or a single day to build. They use a CNC router to cut out the transitional sloped pieces - it doesn't get more perfect than that. We, here at DIY, have done the math on the costs for their ramps. Yes, they can be pricey, but when you factor in the higher end materials (not sold at our local lumber yards), the pre fabricated parts and the delivery to your door....its an incredible value. Just something to consider for those that don't want to tackle the projects from zero. Give these guys a look. They've been in business a long time - there isn't anyone else we know that has produced this many ramps worldwide. On a final note, if you would rather build from scratch, continue browsing our website and let us know how we can help!
